It was hard growing up Greg. Greg never wanted an Odyssey; yet that is what he always seemed to end up getting.
The Mind's I faithful will remember the blistering hardcore punk song about Greg's struggle against Odysseys from the encore sets of Mind's I shows long ago. Now with the looming release of the new Mind's I CD Train Wreck, that angst-filled anthem can grace your CD collection for all time. Why not also celebrate this landmark in musical history with the official Odyssey T-Shirt? The shirt features the above design on the front, and the Mind's I logo on the back. Perfect for wearing to holiday office parties, swanky soirees, or to your upcoming arraignment. You know you want it -so go get you one.
We are still working on the new CD, and would like to have it ready for release by the end of the year, but it's more likely that it won't be until January or February. Although we haven't yet come up with an album title, we can share the names of the songs you can expect to hear when the album is finally released. In no particular order, the songs on the forthcoming CD will be:
- Are You Blind?
- Jaded as a Flight Attendant
- Train Wreck
- Watch Your Manner
- My Friend
- Whipped
- In The Afternoon
- (I Didn't Want An) Odyssey

August marked the return of the full-band for 2 shows: one with original guitarist Greg Muiter and the other with current guitarist Jamie Hook.

The first show was with Greg on Saturday August 23 at the Brucker residence just outside of Butler, PA, where we headlined a benefit for the Make A Wish Foundation. The event was a huge success, raising over $4000 for the foundation. We were extremely honored and proud to have been a part of it. We have a bunch of photos online from our performance as well as a few from the band The Calamity, who did a fantastic job as well. The other bands who played throughout the day were Ozone Itch, Sense In December, and Fight the Flow. We would have posted photos of those bands as well, but Scott, who is usually the one with the camera, arrived late. If we get more photos from anyone else, we'll gladly post them... just email them to Scott. On a personal note, it was great to play with Greg again. We even performed a couple of songs that will be on the new CD, which we are still hoping to release by the end of this year. (Keep your fingers crossed).

The second show was with current guitarist (and proud father of his second baby girl) Jamie Hook at the Monroe Hotel in Butler, PA. Our longtime friend Owen Elliott brought his band The StoneCult across the state from Allentown to open up for us, and they truly rocked the house (in spite of the issues we fought with the PA system). Big thanks to those guys for making the trek and for being patient with the sound.
The Monroe show was a whole lot of fun and we were thrilled to be back onstage together after a 14-month hiatus. The good news is that you won't have to wait another 14 months to see us again - we have another show coming up on Sunday, September 14. We'll be posting the details shortly - so check back in the next few days.
And for those of you who love to see pictures, we have a bunch of them posted from the Monroe show right here. Enjoy!

Mind's I will play their first performance in over a year on Saturday, August 30 at the Monroe Hotel in Butler, PA. Longtime friend Owen Elliott and his band The Stonecult from Allentown will open up the evening.
Come out and hear all your favorites as well as several new songs; a few of which will be on the upcoming CD. We'll see you there!
Tom had a great time in Mystic, CT over the weekend, and wanted to send his appreciation to all who attended his acoustic sets at the Daniel Packer Inn.
