Our next performance will be a St. Patty's Day Bash at Playmaker's in Butler, PA on SATURDAY MARCH 13. This will be an early show (starting at 8:30 PM), with the live music finishing up around Midnight when a DJ will take over for the remainder of the evening. As an added bonus, Jason's other band "Moon Drag" will be opening up the evening - so be sure to get there early and check them out!
We are also excited to announce that we have been selected to compete in this year's "Rock Off" at Club Diesel in Pittsburgh. We'll be posting more details soon - so please check back here... but in the meantime mark you calendar for SATURDAY APRIL 17... that's the date we'll be competing!

Saturday, January 30 - THE MAIN EVENT - Donegal, PA. See you there!

Watch Yo' Manner... Watch Yo' Money...
Mind's I will be performing at THE MONROE HOTEL on the Saturday following Thanksgiving (11/28). We know everyone will be looking to dance off that turkey dinner - so come on out and party with your favorite local band! We're really excited to be playing at the Monroe again - and are looking forward to seeing you all there!
There appears to be some confusion among the masses about "Mr. Furley." In an effort to clear the air - here is the "Mr. Furley Fun FAQ!"
- Who or what is "Mr. Furley?"
Mr. Furley is a new side project (band) comprised of Jamie, Jason, and Scott of Mind's I. - Is Mind's I breaking up?
No. - What kind of music will Mr. Furley play?
That's the cool part... it's basically anything we want to play. Whereas Mind's I usually focuses on playing more original music and danceable cover songs, Mr. Furley will be more of an "anything goes" rock band. - Will Mr. Furley play original music?
Not initially, but we are planning on it in the future. - What types of covers will Mr. Furley be performing?
Stuff we love. Led Zeppelin. Weezer. White Stripes. Spoon. AC/DC. Jane's Addiction. Smashing Pumpkins. James Gang. U2. The list goes on and on... - How can I follow developments with Mr. Furley?
We will post our shows here on Mind's I dot com, as well as on our own site (currently under construction), and on our Facebook page. (Please fan us on Facebook!)
- Where did you get the name "Mr. Furley?"
Let's be frank: naming a band is a pain in the ass. We had several names that we were considering ("The Stiff Richards" was Jason's favorite, and we had multiple others in the mix, including "Hooch Matador," "Phyrst Hooch," and of course "Mr. Furley." We basically called a lot of people and asked their opinions, and in the end we had a crowd who was watching us perform at a motocross event in October pick the name for us from our short-list. We like to think that we are the world's first democratically-named band, and we'll state that as a fact until proven otherwise. :) By the way - Mr. Furley was the name of a character played by the late Don Knotts on the hit sitcom "Three's Company" in the late 70's and early 80's, in case you didn't know...
Finally, some album news. Yes - we know we've cried "wolf" so many times in the last year about this new album that people are starting to doubt that there ever was a new album to begin with... but rest assured it is still very real and very much in the works.
We have taken the tracks we recorded at 77 Studios in Butler to Doug Kasper and the rest of the terrific crew at Soundscape Studios in McKeesport for some additional tracking and final mixdown. The drums and bass have all been pretty much completed, and we hope to have the remaining tracking wrapped by the end of the year. Because we've had so many missed deadlines, we are just going to say that "it's coming" and "we'll let you know when it's off to press." :) We promise that this CD will be worth the wait!
See you on Saturday 11/28 at the Monroe! Happy Thanksgiving!
Love - Tom, Jamie, Jason, and Scott
We had two really fun gigs over the weekend. Both were private events (a Bon-Voyage party for Dena Hutchinson and Jeff, and a Wedding for Lexi and Josh), the latter of which was photographed by Randi Voss. Randi graciously shared with us a lot of the photos she took of the festivities. Feel free to browse them here. For anyone who is considering having a rock band play their wedding, these photographs capture the vibe perfectly. We had such a great time and we know Lexi, Josh, and their guests did as well.
As a reminder - we'll be playing at Bar Louie in Cranberry Township again this Saturday, September 5! Come out and celebrate the unofficial end-of-Summer with us! We'll see you there!
